Understanding Internal Bleeding

Internal Bleeding is a GREEN (safe) symptom detected via X-Ray scanner. It's often missed because bleeding organs look similar to healthy ones. Understanding this symptom prevents unnecessary quarantining of healthy survivors.

Key Points

  • Safe symptom - survivor can enter Survivors Block
  • Detected using X-Ray scanner only
  • Appears as red/reddish sores on organs
  • Does NOT correlate with external bruises

How to Use the X-Ray Scanner

The X-Ray scanner reveals internal organ symptoms. Mastering its layers is essential for thorough examinations.

X-Ray View Layers

Layer 1Base View

Shows all organs at once - good for overview

Organs: Liver, Lungs, Heart, Intestines

Layer 2Low View

Upper organs clear - better view of lungs/heart

Organs: Lungs, Heart

Layer 3Top View

Lower organs and BRAIN visible

Organs: Intestines, Brain (ONLY visible here)

Layer 4All View

No organs shown - ideal for contraband detection

Organs: None (contraband only)

Tip:Always check Layer 3 for brain symptoms - the brain is ONLY visible on this layer!

Identifying Internal Bleeding

Internal bleeding can be tricky to spot because affected organs still appear reddish - similar to healthy organs. Here's what to look for.

Visual Characteristics

Color

Normal reddish organ color with visible sores

Pattern

Red welts, bleeding marks, scar-covered tissue

Location

Can appear on any organ: liver, lungs, brain, intestines

Texture

Discoloration throughout the vascular system

Detection Steps

1Start with Base View (Layer 1) to see all organs
2Look for organs with visible red sores or welts
3Compare suspected organ with other organs on the same person
4Switch to Layer 3 to check the brain
5Zoom in (RMB) for closer inspection if unsure
Warning:Internal bleeding looks very similar to healthy organs. When in doubt, compare with other organs on the same survivor.

Behavioral Hints

Survivors with X-Ray symptoms often show physical hints that help you know when to use the X-Ray scanner.

Stomach Grabbing

Survivor holds their stomach and bends over periodically

Use X-Ray immediately - very likely has organ symptoms

Hunched Posture

Survivor stands slightly bent over or hunched

Check with X-Ray for potential internal symptoms
Note:These hints are not 100% reliable but are strong indicators. Always verify with the X-Ray scanner.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

These are the most frequent errors players make when checking for internal bleeding.

Confusing with healthy organs

Internal bleeding organs still look reddish, making them easy to miss

Compare suspected organ with other organs on the same survivor

Missing brain symptoms

Brain is only visible on Layer 3 - many players forget to check

Always cycle through all 3 layers during examination

Expecting external bruises

In real life, internal bleeding causes bruises - not in this game

Symptoms don't correlate - check X-Ray regardless of skin condition

Stopping after one symptom

Survivors can have multiple symptoms on different organs

Check ALL organs on all layers before making your decision

Quarantining safe symptoms

Internal bleeding looks dangerous but is actually GREEN (safe)

Remember: red sores = safe, black spots or blue = danger
